The Impact of Essential Amino Acids on Muscle and Tendon Adaptation After Eccentric Exercise

Researchers at the University of Tampa Human Performance Laboratory conducted a 36-participant, randomized, placebo-controlled study investigating the effects of OptimalAmino® — a proprietary essential amino acid formulation — on post-exercise muscle recovery and performance.
Principal Investigator Katie Vasenina, PhD, CISSN, of the University of Tampa presented the findings on June 17, 2026 at the International Society of Sports Nutrition's 23rd Annual National Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
The study has since been accepted for publication in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. We'll link to the full peer-reviewed paper here as soon as it's published.
